Carole Mousset’s work offers a particular approach to human interiority, considering the body as a container of fluids in constant mutation.
Mainly through painting, which she sometimes brings into dialogue with sculpture, she presents a subjective approach to inner exploration, where bodies are altered, flesh corrupted, and open to contemplation.
Approaching what surrounds us through the prism of the organic, she offers a particular vision that she calls the Body Gaze, where landscapes of abundant textures oscillate between fantasy, gore, and eroticism.

Where would you teleport yourself at this moment?
In a sunny fearless place, Rivendell, actually.

What’s the one thing throughout your creative process that you enjoy the most?
Painting all the little white sparkles on the last layer is when my paintings become slimy.

Name three words that come to your mind when you think about your work
Texture, body fluids, weirdness.
